Calculate Your Gratuity

What Is End of Service Gratuity?

End of Service Gratuity (EOSG) is a mandatory payment employers in Qatar must make to employees who have completed at least one full year of continuous service. It serves as a financial reward for years of service and loyalty once employment ends — whether by resignation, contract expiry, or termination.

Under Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 (Article 54), employees are legally entitled to a gratuity payment that is not less than three weeks (21 days) of basic salary for each completed year of service.

Official Formula (Article 54)

Gratuity = (Years of Service) × (21 days' basic wage)

Step-by-Step Calculation:

  1. 1Divide monthly basic salary by 30 → daily salary
  2. 2Multiply daily salary × 21 → gratuity for one year
  3. 3Multiply by total years (and fraction of months) of service

Example:

Basic Salary = 1,500 QAR | Years = 5.5

→ Daily = 1,500 ÷ 30 = 50 QAR

→ Per Year = 21 × 50 = 1,050 QAR

→ Total = 1,050 × 5.5 = 5,775 QAR

Who Is Eligible?

Completed at least 1 year of continuous service
Legally employed under a valid contract
Not dismissed for gross misconduct (Article 61)
Not covered by pension scheme with equal/higher benefits
