The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Node.js architecture, API development, distributed systems, and cloud platforms while also demonstrating strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities. As a Lead Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Architects, Engineers, Product Teams, and Clients to deliver high-performance applications and scalable service layers. You will also be responsible for guiding development teams, ensuring engineering best practices, and driving technical excellence across projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while mentoring other developers. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems and API architectures using Node.js. Build and maintain high-performance RESTful and microservices-based applications. Architect secure, scalable, and reliable service layers for enterprise and SaaS products. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers within the team. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and architects to define and implement product requirements. Ensure best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and version control. Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native development. Conduct code reviews and enforce quality and performance standards. Identify and mitigate technical risks during product discovery, development, and release cycles. Participate in architecture discussions, system design, and technology decisions. Ensure teams follow defined development processes and quality standards. Desired Experience 7–12 years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Node.js ecosystem. Experience building enterprise-grade or SaaS products. Strong experience in API architecture and distributed system design. Proven experience leading development teams or mentoring engineers. Excellent problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Experience managing technical risks during product development and launch. Technical Requirements Core Technologies Strong hands-on experience with Node.js (Express.js or NestJS). Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development. Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Cloud & DevOps Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud services. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Docker / containerized deployments is an advantage. Databases Experience with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) using ORMs. Experience with Non-Relational Databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.). Good understanding of database schema design and optimization. Testing & Code Quality Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks. Strong understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD). Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining clean, reusable code. Additional Skills Knowledge of Socket programming (Socket.io or similar). Understanding of SOAP APIs will be an added advantage. Exposure to frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue is a plus. Strong understanding of Git workflows and feature branching strategies.
